Posted On: 11 SEP 2026 4:50PM by PIB Mumbai Nagpur, 11 Sep 2026 Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur, will hold its 24th Convocation on Tuesday, 15 September 2026, coinciding with Engineersโ Day, observed every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of the great visionary and Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya.
Dr. R. Balasubramaniam (Dr. Balu), Member, NITI Aayog, will be the Chief Guest at the 24th Convocation of VNIT Nagpur.
The Convocation will be attended by Chairman, Board of Governors, Shri Madabhushi Madan Gopal (IAS โ84), Director, VNIT Nagpur, Prof. Prem Lal Patel, and Dean (Academic), Prof. Vilas Kalamkar, along with faculty members, graduating students, research scholars, parents and other distinguished guests.
During the 24th Convocation, VNIT Nagpur will confer a total of 1,547 degrees across various programmes. These include 59 Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees, 595 Master of Technology (M.Tech.) degrees in various engineering disciplines, 64 Master of Science (M.Sc.) degrees in various science disciplines, 761 Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degrees in various engineering disciplines, and 68 Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) degrees.
VNIT will also felicitate meritorious students and research scholars with medals and awards in recognition of their outstanding academic achievements.
The annual Convocation of VNIT Nagpur, held on Engineersโ Day, is a significant occasion that celebrates academic excellence, research accomplishments and the transition of graduating students into professional and societal roles. The institution, named after the illustrious engineer and statesman Sir M. Visvesvaraya, continues to contribute to the advancement of engineering, technology, science and research in the country.
