Mumbai: 15 September 2026 The Office of the Controller of Communication Accounts, Maharashtra & Goa, commenced the celebration of Hindi Pakhwada, underscoring the significance of Hindi as the Official Language of India and its role in strengthening the unity and integrity of the nation.
On the occasion, Dr. Satish Chandra Jha, Controller of Communication Accounts, highlighted that Hindi is a vital link that connects India’s composite culture and strengthens the unity and integrity of the nation. He noted that Hindi, as the Official Language, possesses the unique inherent ability to assimilate Tatsam, Tadbhav, indigenous and foreign words. Dr. Jha further emphasised that sustained efforts are being undertaken to strengthen the position of Hindi and promote its wider use.
Recalling the significant role played by Hindi during India’s freedom movement, he noted that the language served as an important medium of communication and helped bring people together in the struggle for independence.
On the occasion of Hindi Pakhwada, he also extended his best wishes to all officers and officials on the auspicious occasion of Ganeshotsav, the iconic cultural festival of Maharashtra. Recalling the contribution of Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak, one of the foremost leaders of India’s freedom struggle, he highlighted his significant role in the independence movement and his contribution towards transforming Ganeshotsav into an important cultural festival of Maharashtra.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Shri Sumit Awasthi, Accounts Officer. He expressed his gratitude to the Controller of Communication Accounts for his valuable address and encouragement towards the promotion and effective implementation of the Official Language Policy. He also thanked all officers and employees for their active participation and contribution towards making the inauguration ceremony a success.
