2475. Shri Rao Rajendra Singh:
Will the Minister of YOUTH AFFAIRS AND SPORTS be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government has undertaken any assessment of the implementation and impact of the Khelo India programme across the country and if so, the details thereof;
(b) the details of athletes who have been provided training, scholarships, financial assistance, and other benefits under the said programme, since its inception;
(c) whether the Government has established or sanctioned Khelo India Centres, Khelo India State Centres of Excellence and sports infrastructure projects in various States/UTs, including Rajasthan and if so, the district-wise details thereof;
(d) whether the Government proposes to further strengthen the Khelo India initiative by expanding grassroots sports infrastructure, identifying sporting talent in rural and tribal areas and increasing financial assistance to young athletes; and

(a) A third-party evaluation of Khelo India Scheme has been conducted in respect of its implementation from 2021-22 to 2025-26. Details of the third-party evaluation are available on dashboard of this Ministry at

Page 1 of 2(b) and (c) The details of various sports facilities under the Khelo India Scheme, such as Sports Infrastructure, Khelo India Centres (KICs), Khelo India State Centres of Excellence (KISCEs) and Khelo India Accredited Academies (KIAAs) along with Khelo India Athletes (KIAs) and coaches, across the country, including in the State of Rajasthan, are available in the public domain on the dashboard of the Ministry at

(d) and (e) The Government continues to strengthen the Khelo India initiative through its existing components, with emphasis on grassroots sports development, identification and nurturing of sporting talent and providing structured training and support to athletes. The Khelo India Scheme is a demand-driven scheme. Proposals received from the State/Union Territory Governments and other eligible entities for development of sports infrastructure and expansion of sports development initiatives are considered for financial support, subject to their completeness, technical feasibility, infrastructure gaps, sporting potential, readiness for implementation and availability of funds under the Scheme.
