Will the Minister of CONSUMER AFFAIRS, FOOD AND PUBLIC DISTRIBUTION be pleased
to state:
(a) w}lether the Government proposes to construct new Steel Silos for foodgrain storage in Gujarat particularly in Dahod Lok Sabha Constituency;
(b) if so, the details thereof including the locations identified for this purpose and the storage capacity proposed for each silo;
(c) the current status of the said project and the time by which the construction work of these new silos is likely to be completed; and
(d) the details of the total funds allocated and sanctioned for this purpose? ANSWER M[NISTER OF STATE FOR MINISTRY OF CONSUMER AFFAIRS, FOOD & PUBLIC DiSTRIBUTION (SHRIM,£\TI N{MUBEN JAYANTIBHAI BAMBHANIYA)
(a) to (c): ID the State of Gujarat, silos at 05 locations with total capacity of 2.00 LMT have been constructed. Silos at 02 locations v,iib capaCity of 1.00 LMT are under construction.
Further. tenders have been awarded for 07 locations with capacity of 3.625 LMT. The location- v/ise details are at Annexrlre-1.
The selectiolr of lot'atioIIS for silo construe lion has been made on the basis of assessed storage gap, consum,)tioir requirements and operational pardnreters. Currently, there is no proposal fOI construction of silos in Dahod Lok Sabha Constituency.
(d): 'Fhc silo projects in the conFIVy are. constrDctpd in. PPP (Public Private Partnership) Mode.
